Large Heat Pumps:


Large heatpumps for district heating often uses open loop energy sources like sea water, rivers, sewage water etc.

These sources contains particles and biological matters (bacteria, shell fish etc.) and makes a plate heat exchanger fouling and reducing SCOP values of the heat pump system.

Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS)


Plate Heat Exhangers are used for temperature control in the fish tanks, both as heat recovery, heating and cooling.

With temperatures from 10 Celcius to 25 Celcius, plenty of nutrients and particles leads to severe biological and particulate fouling of the exchangers.


Results are huge service costs, loss of energy and down time and/or CAPEX cost for redundancy heat exchanger systems.
